There was a fun post today on the Golden Age Comic Book Stories blog of Howard Pyle (another golden-age/turn-of-the-century illustrator) illustrations for a witches book. Pyle does some great linework, and his illustrations are nice and spooky! Take a look at all of them here!

I really like the traditional line work with color washes in his illustrations. They remind me of older illustrations in novels.
